At about the time of the first reunion, i had been in occasional contact with Tom Simmerley of A Company. I’ve tried calling the last number I had, and sending e-mails, but “no joy”. At my last contact with him, he was staying with his sister in/near Nashville.
If you are in contact with him, please let him know that I would like to hear from him.
Pappy464@Yahoo.Com will work.
Many thanks folks,
Lou Rourke

P.S.Thank you for putting up this site. You’re great.
Thank you Lou!
Anyone out there remember Nov. 22nd. 1969, convoy from Phouc Vinh to Song Be ?
Has anyone seen or heard from Tom Simmerley from A Co ?
I left a query here in 2011, but it has apparently been archived.
I last heard from Tom just prior to the first reunion. At that time he was staying with a sister in/near Nashville.
Thanks Guys
Lou
Hi Lou,
Your original post is the very first one, at the top, below “four responses… ” dated December 14. I need to market this site so that vets are aware it exists.
Let me know if you have any suggestions!
Thanks,
June
Hi June,
Apparently didn’t scroll down far enough to see it earlier. Sorry.
I’ll put on my thinking cap on raising awareness of the site. Maybe there’s a way to make something permanently set at the top of the Facebook page.
Many thanks for all your efforts. You’re a prize.
Be well,
Lou Rourke
Thank you, Lou… you warm my heart! June

I’ve been searching for Dave Stout, I think from Indiana. Served with Dave in motor pool HHC 31st Engineers, Phouc Vinh 1970. How about Ed “the head” Rorick? Don’t know where Ed was from but I had a pretty good guess where he was headed. Hope both of you are well. Clark Michael
Hi anonymous, I’m the admin of this blog and haven’t done much to publicize it. You might have better luck finding folks on the 31st Engineer Battalion Facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/groups/178176812208870/
You have to ask to join as it is a closed group but you should get entry within a day or two. Lots of folks active on this page. My dad, John Frye, served in Nam 68-69. The group is having their annual reunion in Las Vegas October 3-6 this year! Hope to see you there! June
I wanted to thank you for this very good read!! I definitely loved every little
bit of it. I have got you book marked to check out new stuff you post…
Thank you! There is an existing site https://31stengineerbattalion.com/ which is going to be redesigned soon; you might enjoy the information and photos posted there. Have a great holiday season!
I do not know whether it’s just me or if everybody
else experiencing issues with your site. It appears as
if some of the written text on your posts are running off the screen.
Can someone else please provide feedback and let me know if
this is happening to them as well? This could be a problem with my internet
browser because I’ve had this happen before.
Thank you
Hello, I’m not seeing those issues on the admin side, I’ll test it on my desktop when I get home to double check. I’m on an iPad and do not see the issues. Thanks for the heads-up and I will correct it if I find an issue. Have a wonderful holiday season!

Hello Briish,
There is a Facebook page for the 31st at this address: https://www.facebook.com/groups/178176812208870/
I’ve posted your inquiry there and hopefully members of the group will also come here and reply to you. You can join the Facebook page by requesting to join the group, they’re a great bunch of folks. I hope you do and find some old and new friends. The group has a reunion every two years, next one is in San Antonio, TX IN October 2015.
My name is June (Frye) Robbins, my dad was in Vietnam in 68-69. Hope you join the group and reunions!
All the best, June
Needless to say, they’re not big users of the blog 🙂
I served ’69-’70 with the 20th engr. Brigade, 31st engr. Bn., company B, 2nd platoon. Like to hear from brothers that served with me.
Hi Richard, I’ve contacted the group and gave them your info. I hope they reach out to you and you find your brothers! All the best, June Robbins
